About Carbine Club

The Carbine Club of NZ is one of 15 such Clubs established throughout Australia (one in each State), Hong Kong, London, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, South Africa and Vanuatu.

The Carbine Club of NZ was established in 1971 and is restricted to just 40 ordinary members with two additional categories for Senior and Honorary members.

History of Carbine Club

The Carbine Club of New Zealand was formed in 1971 – as a direct result of prominent Auckland sporting and racing personalities attending functions at the inaugural Carbine Club in Melbourne.

The three key New Zealand instigators, Dave Bradford; Bob Wynyard; and Arthur Hughes, had strong support from Dr Alex McGregor-Grant, who was already an honorary member
